Promotional Products Consulting in Houston, TX
Preparing to Order Terms
Avoiding issues that slow down the process.
When ordering promotional products, it is best to have long lead times such as at least a month before needing the items;
avoid rush situations which increases costs and the possibility of errors.
The in-hands date or deadline information should be communicated to the promotional products company
which is highly recommended if needed within a month.
Best to have the artwork ready before ordering.
If artwork is needed to be created, the best course of action is do a "face to face" in person
or visually online with a graphic artist for creating artwork with written documented details
and instructions instead of communicating by multiple e-mails exchanges which can take up a lot of time.
Also, best to document the message and its details either as a digital copy or hard copy.
Generally, promotional products companies do not have graphic artists to design and
create the artwork for the customer because of the considerable amount of time needed to complete the final image.
Graphic artists at promotion products companies have the main focus of creating a digital mock-up or proof of the artwork on the promo items as well as creating the production file for the actual customization process of applying the message to the items.
Artwork/Logo image shape issues
Some promotional products may have print area that are narrow like a
line which would need the artwork or logo image to be similar in shape.
Other products have a print area that are square, round, oval or rectangular
that would again have to have the message to be close to those shapes.
For logos and artwork used on a regular basis, multiple versions of the same
content in the different basic shapes will accommodate more of the different
varieties of promotional products.

Art file format and image size preferences.
The high resolution vector file format of Adobe Illustrator which can create and edit images is the most preferred form. The advantage is that the artwork images are scalable in size to "fit" the need without the image becoming "fuzzy" (pixelated) if the image is enlarged. EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) are also of high resolution and recommended formats as well.
In computer graphics, a raster graphics or bitmap image is a dot matrix data structure that represents a generally rectangular grid of pixels (points of color), viewable via a monitor, paper, or other display medium. Raster images are stored in image files with varying formats.
Note: The raster image size preference is 1500 x 1500 pixels or 300 dpi.
Best to avoid using raster in print applications.
